PSS Sensor Calibration: Finding the Efficiency Standard
Consistency is king. World Taekwondo has announced a unified calibration standard for the 2027 season, merging the detection sensitivities of both KPNP and Daedo systems into a single "WT Efficiency Curve".
Eliminating the "Ghost Score"
Ghost scores occur when proximity sensors trigger without adequate force. The new 2027 protocol requires a dual-verification check: the magnet must trigger, AND a piezoelectric sensor must detect a force vector of at least 15 Newtons for the score to register.
Impact on Training
Athletes must stop training for "touches" and start training for "impact vectors". The soft-touch meta is being systematically dismantled to restore the integrity of full-contact combat.
